Welcome to This Week at Grace! In this space, we'll let you know about the things we announced in church last Sunday, so that you can keep up-to-date, even if you can't make it to the service.
Our Bishop-in-Residence's new book is here! Carol Gallagher's Reweaving the Sacred is available in the church office for only $16.
The Cathedral Arts Festival continues! Our Champagne Gala and Evening of Poetry were wonderful. More events are coming up! Tomorrow evening, we are proud to present a Reading and Book Signing by Honor Moore of her new memoir, The Bishop's Daughter. Next, there is a U2charist on May 17, to benefit The York Street Project, a local ministry to help homeless and economically disadvantaged women and children break the cycle of poverty and begin a life of self-sufficiency. Next week, the Festival continues with a CAF Coffeehouse featuring local musicians (May 20), and a Short Film Festival (May 22). All these events begin at 7pm. Don't miss out!
The Youth Group is going on its Annual Camping Trip! We'll leave from Grace Church on Friday, May 30 for an overnight of roughing it! Talk to Becca or Nick for details!
Calling all volunteers! Are you interested in the all-important ministry of hospitality? Hannah Kwon is looking for some willing people to help coordinate the after-church coffee hour. She says that if you can boil water, you're perfect for this ministry! Talk to Hannah herself after church, stop by the office, or email Nick (nick@gracevanvorst.org) to get going on this.
Finally, we ask for your prayers for Nellie, Karen, Dottie, David, Tara and for Gerald, beloved parishioners in need.
Love and Kisses,
Janet, Nick, and Chrissy
