Our Mission:

At Grace Church Van Vorst we seek to know and experience God’s grace and love through hearing and understanding the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe wholeheartedly that the gifts of the Spirit are nurtured and thrive best within a loving community. Following Jesus' example, we welcome all and seek to serve others.  

Listed below are descriptions of Grace Church’s ministries.  The leaders of the ministries will contact you in the following weeks to let you know how you can get involved.

Altar Guild

Altar guild members work "behind the scenes" to prepare the altar for the celebration of the Eucharist or other sacraments or offices of the church.  The Altar Guild is responsible for the proper care of vestments, altar cloths, prayer books, and sacramental vessels. Everyone is welcome to participate.

Arts Ministry

Art Exhibits, Film @ Grace, Theatre, Dance, Music & more!

Arts at Grace helps put the “creativity” in our Motto,  “Community, Diversity, Creativity.”  Each year Grace produces major acclaimed art exhibits including the Cathedral Arts Festival, occasional films, theatre productions, arts workshops, and events in dance and music.  We also endeavor to involve children in arts programming that is enriching and educating.

Breakfast Plus! Program

Breakfast for the Hungry, Every Saturday and Sunday.

Grace Church provides a nourishing, hot breakfast for the hungry in the parish hall every Saturday and Sunday morning from 7-9:30 a.m.  Volunteers are needed to work in the kitchen for food preparation, to help set up/clean up, or to lend a hand in coordinating food deliveries and logistics.

Buildings and Grounds Committee

The Buildings and Grounds Committee works to care for the buildings of the property – the church, the Parish Hall, and the rectory. Its primary responsibilities are to ensure safety, proper maintenance, and upkeep of the buildings.

Children’s Ministry/Youth Group

The children’s ministry offers child-centered spiritual direction during Sunday services for children in pre-school to 4^th grade.  The youth group seeks to provide fellowship and build community for 5^th to 12^th grade students. Adults can get involved by assisting with the children’s ministry during Sunday service (once every 6-8 weeks), by offering transportation to and from youth group activities, or by chaperoning a group on a weekend retreat.

Grace Garden

We have a beautiful garden that is always looking for kind tending hands year round. 

Hospitality Ministry

Grace Church Van Vorst welcomes everyone to be a part of our community.  The Hospitality ministry greets newcomers to Sunday services and all events, hosts newcomers’ events, and assists our clergy in visiting those in need.

Music at Grace

The Music Ministry at Grace Van Vorst is as individual as our worship itself!  From Contemporary to Classical, the music lifts us up as we worship the Lord with songs and instruments.  Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. prior to our 11:00 a.m. worship.

Outreach Ministry

The focus of this ministry is to develop GCVV’s awareness and understanding of the financial, emotional and spiritual needs of people here in our local community and internationally, and to find ways to address them in a meaningful and effective way.

Technology Team

Are you a technology geek at heart? This team of volunteers is responsible for integrating uses of technology/media into our worship services, our office administration, and other programs.
