Dear Grace Family,
I’m spending a few days by the Blue Ridge Mountains in Tennessee with my family. Time seems to expand sitting here in my Mother’s home, which is how I discovered the beautiful poem by St. John of the Cross which you’ll find below. I hope it feeds you as it did me.
January is another very full month at Grace with opportunities for taking on Sundayworship leader roles, coffee hour with volunteers from First Friends who will discuss their work at the Elizabeth Detention Center, our Annual Meeting, a visit from our Bishop and our Breaking Bread Start Up Dinner.
Please join us.
If You Want
the Virgin will come walking down the road
pregnant with the holy,
“I need shelter for the night, please take me inside your heart,
my time is so close.”
Then, under the roof of your soul, you will witness the sublime
intimacy, the divine, the Christ
as she grasps your hand for help, for each of us
is the midwife of God, each of us.
Yes there, under the dome of your being does creation

as God grasps our arms for help; for each of us is
His beloved servant
If you want the Virgin will come walking
down the street pregnant
with Light and
