CALL FOR ART

 

The 2024 Cathedral Arts Festival

 

The Cathedral Arts Festival is Jersey City’s longest-running art exhibition and celebration of artists and community.  During the festival, the beautiful 160-year-old sanctuary of Jersey City’s beloved Grace Church Van Vorst is transformed into an art gallery featuring dozens of artists from the tri-state area. This year’s formal champagne gala will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

 

We now reach out to our local art community and beyond to find the artists and work that will carry forward thirty years of creative excellence. Fine art mediums will be considered, including painting, sculpture, photography, multi-media, and drawing. We will consider submissions at a range of prices so that all members of the community can purchase original art of exceptional quality. All work is for sale with 60% of the sale going to the exhibiting artist and 40% to Grace Church.

 

Please submit up to three JPEGS digitally by emailing submissions to caf-art@gracevanvorst.org. Each image should be submitted as an attached JPEG and titled "[Last Name] [Title of Piece]." JPEGS must be true to color and of good quality. In the text of your submission email, please include the following information for each piece submitted:

            Artist name

            Title of work

            Medium

            Height in Inches x Width in Inches

            Price

 

All submissions must be received on or before Friday, April 26th, to be considered. Decisions regarding accepted work can be expected on or before May 3rd.

 

Accepted artwork must be delivered (ready to install; hardware included) to Grace Church Van Vorst on Friday, May 10th, between 1:30 and 5:00 pm or Sunday, May 12th, between 1:30 and 5:00 pm. Work will remain on exhibit through May 26, 2024.
