Tuesday Brown Bag Lunch & Bible Study in the Rectory at Noon
The Gospel of Mark, Starting May 21st

Bring your lunch and Rev. Laurie will bring the Bibles!  Mark is our oldest Gospel and it reads like a speeding train.  Hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and catch up with him as he redeems the whole broken world!  See you there.

Wednesday at Noon
Service of Healing Prayer in the Church
Starting May 22nd

Right in the middle of your busy day, why not stop by for a half hour of reflection, communion and healing prayer?  Bring a friend!

What Is the Episcopal Church Anyway?
 Saturday Mornings  June 1st, 8th & 29th
10am-11:30am in the Rectory

We have women priests.  We have bishops but no Pope.   Are we Protestant or Catholic?  And what’s up with that red book in the back of the church?  Come find out!  Over three Saturdays Rev. Laurie will tell you a little bit about the history of the Episcopal Church, what Episcopalians believe, and how we try to live that out as a local and global church.  This will be a good place to meet other new folks at Grace.  Bagels and coffee will be waiting for you!

Knitters, crocheters, sewers, quilters, and those who wish like to learn, are invited to participate in a Prayer Shawl Ministry and/or a Prayer Quilting Ministry. We will use our hands to prayerfully create shawls and lap robes to provide comfort, warmth and a sense of shared community for those who can benefit from them. Communion Ministry

Chalice

A Lay Eucharistic Visitor (or “LEV”) is a person licensed by the bishop to take the consecrated elements—the Bread and Wine of Holy Communion—to those who, by reason of illness or infirmity, are unable to be present at the celebration of Holy Eucharist on given Sunday.  These may be elderly people who no longer get out much, those staying for a time in a hospital, or just someone at home with a cold.

If you would like communion brought to you or know of anyone would like to have communion delivered by our dedicated team of LEV's, please contact the Reverend Laurie Wurm, revlwurm@gracevanvorst.org, to arrange a visit.
